How to Log a Found Rock on Go Rock Go

In case you didn’t know, artists are hiding painted rocks with a code unique to our site called Go Rock Go. Go Rock Go is a world-wide platform dedicated to hiding, coding and tracking painted kindness rocks with the intent to watch kindness travel and build community through small works of art hidden in plain sight.

If you’ve been lucky enough to find one, or maybe you just want to be prepared – the process of logging the rock as ‘found’ is super easy! This is a quick guide on how to log a found rock on Go Rock Go.

How Does it Work?

There are detailed hiding videos here, but in a nutshell for the artist:

They upload painted rocks to their gallery, and each one generates it’s own unique code
The code, plus the website name (gorockgo.com) is added to the back of the rock
The artist hides it physically and adds the location to the map for that particular rock

For the Finder, the process is equally easy!

Enter the site name on your browser, gorockgo.com
Click the gold colored ‘hamburger’ menu top left and choose Found A Rock?
Enter the 6 digit code from the rock and press Verify

At this point the Finder will be directed to a simple form they will need to complete with information such as:

Where was it found? (in case it was moved without being logged from original hiding spot. It happens!)
What would you like to do with it? (keep, rehide)
Leave a comment and/or picture (optional)
The artist approves ALL found rock submissions

The artist then will get an email notifying them their rock was found and to log in and check it out! At the moment we don’t have the option for the artist to send a thank you message to the Finder, but it is planned!
