How to Share and Track Kindness Rocks (Without Social Media Overload)

You paint a rock, hide it somewhere special… and then what?

Someone finds it. They smile. And every once in a while, it shows up in a Facebook group.

But most of the time, the story just… ends there.

And that’s exactly the problem Go Rock Go is here to solve.

What Are Kindness Rocks?

If you’re new to the idea, kindness rocks are simple: people paint rocks with messages, designs, or artwork, then leave them in public places for others to find.

Sometimes they say “You matter” or “Be Kind”
Sometimes they’re bright, fun, or inspirational. Sometimes they’re super elaborate, but the intent is always the same: little pieces of art hidden in plain sight for strangers to find.

Painted rocks create community connection through the power of art. Any style, any color, any subject by any artist regardless of age, gender or ability.

While it may look like just a rock… it rarely feels that way to the person who finds it. Painted rocks have a way of finding the right people who need them the most.

The Problem With Sharing Kindness Rocks Today

At first, sharing feels easy. Most people turn to Facebook groups to post what they’ve made or found, and even TikTok has a large community base.

However, over time, a few things start to happen:

  • Fresh posts flood in and push yours out of sight
  • Finders and creators rarely connect
  • Rocks lose their “story”
  • You never really know where your rock ended up
  • AI-generated rocks—and even stolen art—flood the feed and bury real rock posts.

The inevitable result? Many rock painting artists quietly stop sharing altogether—not because they don’t care, but because it starts to feel disconnected.

So while the intention is still there… the experience falls short. Go Rock Go is all about community. The rock painting world exists, it’s not going anywhere and only getting stronger, so why not create a hub to bring it together? It’s about a way to track kindness rocks.

What Is Go Rock Go?

In a nutshell, Go Rock Go is a simple way to track, share, and connect through kindness rocks—without relying on social media feeds.

Instead of posting into a crowded group, each rock becomes part of a bigger story. From there, artists can share directly to Facebook or the individual groups they are a part of. This way, your rock keeps its journey—and its story keeps speaking.

You’re no longer just putting a rock out into the world…(or into the void)

You’re giving it a journey.

How Go Rock Go Works

  • Paint a rock and upload it onto your gallery within your Go Rock Go profile. Add a fun title, a description, pictures, and choose from several identifying categories that define your rock.
  • Go Rock Go assigns each rock a unique code—you write it on the back along with the website. Example “Visit gorockgo.com and enter xxxxxx”
  • Choose to hide your painted rock then, or come back later when it’s convenient. Hiding is simple – just enter the address or choose the pin icon to automatically find the current location.
  • Leave your rock in plain sight and wait for the magic!
  • Finders will know to come to the site, click on “Found a Rock?” and enter the code. They can keep it, re-hide it, leave a message and even a picture! They can come back at any time and re-hide the rock.
  • As soon as someone finds your rock, we email you—so you can log in and approve the location, photos, and messages.

Why Go Rock Go Feels Different

This is where things shift for artists.

Go Rock Go gives every painted rock its own space—no more lost posts in a feed. Its own story. Its own path. Artists become active participants in their art and the connection it makes.

More importantly, creators finally get to see the impact of what they’ve made. Wanting to know where your art goes is perfectly natural and perfectly human.

That moment—the one you hope happens when you leave a rock behind—you can actually witness it.

And that changes everything. Go Rock Go is embracing curiosity and kindness; allowing artists to be part of the movement.
